2023: A year to remember

It’s been a great year for Store Maintenance. During 2023 we have seen a huge demand for our services as retailers look to bring a better experience for customers. New customers across the UK and Europe have joined our portfolio. To meet demand we have also welcomed additional staff to provide our industry-leading services. From callouts to quotes, new heights have been reached. So let’s take a look in a little more details at just how we have grown and evolved during 2023.

A look at our business.

Overall, 2023 has been a record year for us. The business grew by an astonishing 26% over the year, delivering record revenues for Store Maintenance. This is showing no signs of this tailing off either, with double-digit growth forecast for next year too.

This growth has been underpinned by an exceptionally busy period for our network of professional trades. They have delivered over 1,200 jobs per month for reactive and planned maintenance. Their hard work has kept retail locations open and providing their services to the public.  Plus, projects worth over £1m were delivered to achieve energy savings and improve the customer experience.

Back office developments

We realised it was vital that such growth was supported by continual investment in our back office functions. So, we have successfully rolled out a new dashboard and associated upgrades for UK and European customers. This will allow us to work more closer in managing their budget allocation with us.

A new look to our front end too

It would be remiss of us to not mention one of our most visual changes this year. 2023 saw us launch our new website, which continues to attract ever more visitors from around the UK and Europe and enquiries about how we can help maintain their retail properties.

Our partner community grows

The increased demand in our service has also meant a growth in our customer base. We now look after 68 of the best-known retail brands across the UK, ROI, Nordic Countries, Germany & Netherlands, many of them iconic high-value names. 2023 saw us win new contracts within these territories, which will expand our services further.

Reaching new standards

Part of our drive to remain as the leading maintenance service provider to retailers is to ensure we adopt recognised standards and certifications.  During 2023 Store maintenance was awarded the highly valued ISO14001 accreditation. This award demonstrates our commitment to improving our environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.

ISO 14001 will help us demonstrate compliance with current and future statutory and regulatory requirements. For our customers this gives them the confidence we act as a responsible partner in managing waste. We are rightfully proud of achieving this standard. We will use this as a basis for improvement across our business during 2024 and beyond.

A warm welcome to new staff

Providing such an unrivalled level of support to our customers requires a dedicated team. We are delighted to announce our numbers will grow to 22 next year, with new starters in the first quarter coming in. With new staff we will ensure our approach to delivering the very best level of support and care to retailers continues to be the envy of the industry.

What does 2024 have in store?

We mentioned earlier that next year shows no sign of slowing down. Retailers are increasingly looking to Store Maintenance to evolve how they approach retail facilities maintenance. We are already in discussion for new contracts to be awarded in 2024 and will expand both the services we offer and the countries we cover.

More customers are tasking us to take over control of the maintenance services they require across their estates and use nominated contractors in addition to our own. This approach provides them with ever higher levels of services and quality of works. They achieve this through using a combination of our trusted network with their own stable of experienced trades.

Finally, one very important event will take place in 2024. After years of strong growth we will be moving to a brand new purpose created facility of our own. The new site will provide an excellent environment for our team to deliver the very best support service to retailers. You will be reading much more about our new offices very soon.

We are certainly looking forward to helping more retailers with delivering peerless maintenance and support services during 2024.  And to all our valued partners, we thank you for the support you have shown to Store Maintenance over the last 12 months.

For now, to our wonderful customers and network of trades we wish you all a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and happiness, and look forward to working with you all again in the New Year.
